Maori psychologist and award-winning filmmaker Paora Joseph is blowing the subject of suicide wide open with his latest feature film Maui’s Hook.

In the documentary the New Plymouth man, who has also made thefilm Tatarakihi: The Children of Parihaka, will meet with five Maori families affected by suicide and guide them through a journey of discovery and resolution.

Theproject began last week when a Taranaki family was picked up by a bus bound for Cape Reinga. Click link for more
